Who can access our Group?
An Group has two levels of access, controlled by the Group admin and Group members.
Public Access
The web address for your Group is available to anyone who has a web browser. What they can see and access may be quite extensive, or very limited. At a minimum all they would see is a Login box.
Often you will want to make some types of information, e.g. photos or videos, viewable by anyone who comes to the Group site. For example, grandparents may want to see the latest video of their granddaughter's soccer game. Information that is available for the public is highlighted by a green dot
.
Members-Only Access
Some information, such as a member's iPanel, is available only to members of the Group. To access members-only data you must log in. Once you do you will have access to all information that is available to the public, plus any other information that is available only to members. Information that is available for members only is highlighted by a gray dot
.
Controlling Access
An Group admin can determine whether entire types of information, e.g. Discussions, are available to the public or to members only. Even when an information type is open to the public, individual items may still be restricted to members only. When adding a comment, a photo or anything else to your Group, just check the appropriate box, Public or Members Only.
