Directra Files
Directra has specific tools to assist you in uploading and viewing photos and videos. But many Groups will want to use other types of files (e.g. word processing documents, spreadsheets, sound files, just to name a few.)
Uploading Files
Go to the Files page (on the Features tab click Files) where you'll find the Upload button. You can upload a single file or up to 100 files at once. In the latter case, Directra displays a progress indicator and, when done, tells you if there were any problems with the upload.
Before you upload a file make sure that you own the file or have permission to upload it. Also make sure that the file contains no material that is inappropriate for or offensive to members of the Group.
Here are some tips:
- If you upload a file of type mp3, Directra will display the file with a built-in player. Playing the file takes a single click.
- Directra detects the type of file you are uploading so that you can access it easily. For example, even though there is a separate interface for uploading photos, if you use the File interface for files of type jpg, png or gif, Directra will display them with other photos. Similarly, video files will be available with other videos.
- Files follow Directra's privacy model, so you can make files available to the general public or to members only.
Using Files
To view or download a file, just click on the file name in the Files gadget on the Group home page. If your admin has restricted the number of files displayed on the home page, then click Files on the Features tab to see all uploaded files.
