Directra Build #709

Released on September 03, 2009

We've added new functionality to text, voice and email blasts, and continue to make usability improvements.

Making Sure Your Blast Message Gets Delivered

Directra will make every attempt possible to deliver a blast message. If the specified communication type (call, text or email) fails, Directra will use another type to get the message through. The most basic communication type is email, and, if all else fails, the message gets delivered as email. Message recipients have new options on the Contact Information section of their iPanel to give them control over how messages are sent to them.

Blast Preview and Blast Results

Before sending a blast you can now preview the list of members who will get the blast and what communication type will be used to deliver the blast message to each member. Directra will, of course, attempt to send the blast message using the communication type you specify (call, text or email). But, as mentioned above, this may not be possible for all members. On the blast form (selected from the Communication tab), click Preview to see the list of recipients and how Directra will send them the message.

When the blast is done you can check blast results (View Blast Results on the Communicate menu) to see all details of the blast - time, status (success, failure), communictaion type used, phone number used (for text and call blasts) - for all message recipients.

Usability

  • To make access to Directra's communications features as easy as possible we now display the Send a Blast gadget at the top of the right-hand column on all Group home pages.
  • The invitation email is now sent both as a text and an HTML message. This should remove problems some users had with the sign-up URL spanning multiple lines in the email and being very hard to use.
