Title Menus on Home Page Gadgets

Directra's home page gadgets are the window into all the information available on your web site. Some gadgets (e.g. Announcements) provide summary information, and you click to get more details. Others (e.g. the Send a Blast gadget) are self-contained, providing all the information that is necessary. Each gadget has its own characteristics, and both users and admins may not be aware of the features of each gadget. To help with this we have added a hover menu that will appear when you hover over the title of any homepage gadget.

Here's an example, using the Mini-Calendar gadget:

Some details:

1. When you move your cursor into any home page gadget the title will be highlighted and underlined. This is a cue that it will be worth your while to move your cursor to the title.
2. Clicking on the gadget's title is the same as selecting the first option in the menu.
3. The contents of each menu are specific to the gadget. Some menus will only have a couple of choices, others may have several.
4. The example above shows a menu that an admin will see. Members will generally see fewer choices.
5. For admins, each menu includes the option to remove the gadget from the home page.
6. Each menu has a link to a help topic explaining how and why you might want to use this gadget.

Low Score Wins

Imagine the suprise of one of our golf Groups when they posted a score of 208 to 215 and the Team Record gadget reported this as a loss. To allow for golf and any other sport or activity in which low score wins we have added the Scoring Method option to the iPack Properties section of the Admin Control Panel. For golf, the default is Low Score Wins, for all other sports the default is High Score Wins, but this is a setting the Group admin can change. And if you check the box Select scoring method on a per game basis you can make the scoring method game-specific. In this case the option will appear when you edit a game record.
