Directra Build #411
Released on February 12, 2009
Call Blast Improvements
- If you send a blast from your phone then the Directra introduction will no longer be played. This means users can hear your voice immediately, getting right to the message.
- Problems with the message being "clipped" at the beginning should be rare.
- Call blast messages will repeat the message automatically to ensure that the recipient understands the full message.
- At any time while you're listening to a blast, hit any key and the message will immediately repeat, without the Directra introduction.
Better Classification of Games
We made a number of addtions to the way Directra handles games. In addition to "cosmetic" improvements, we added Record Categories, a new, more flexible way to classify games. Now Directra can generate a separate Team Record for your regular season versus your tournament play.
- In the Admin Control Panel we added a new section, iPack Properties. Here you can:
- Select an iPack for your Group. In particular, for sports teams you can select the type of sport and Directra will then tailor various forms and pages for that sport. Previously iPacks had to be defined by Directra personnal. They are now available to admins, and we've added more iPack types.
- Customize your record catgories (e.g. League, Tournament) which Directra uses when displaying your team record.
- Customize your game types (e.g. Preseason, Scrimmage, Exhibition, Game, Playoff), allowing you to further detail your team record within each category.
- On the game form there is now a drop-down list for selecting the Record Category. The values available are those you specify in the iPack Properties section, mentioned above. On the Add Multiple Games page you now select a category, then all the games you add are assigned to that category.
- With the addition of the above features, the Team Record home page gadget has a much more flexible display. You will see games organized by category, and within each category by game type.
- We added a short text field, Note, where you can enter additional information about a game that will be displayed on your calendar or schedule. For example, for a playoff game you might want to enter Quarterfinals or semis.
- All existing games have been automatically updated to the new design. View individual games or the settings in the iPack Properties section.
- We improved formatting of the Calendar and Schedule views to display the Record Category and the Note. Our design intent is for parents and players to quickly see what they need before heading to the Game.
Admin Control Panel
For Group admins we made a number of changes to the Admin Control Panel.
- We enabled the Features section, allowing you to enable or disable various Directra features. Previously only Directra Support had access to this panel. See Directra's Features for more information.
- We added new sections to the Admin Control Panel, and reorganized and renamed others:
- The top section is now Group Properties, and includes the time zone specification and a checkbox where you can enable or disable family relationships. As a result, the Locations and Timezone section is now the Locations section.
- As mentioned above, we added the iPack Properties section.
- We moved the Directory Dial and Contact Us phone numbers to the new Voice Properties section.
Online Help
- We added help icons (
) all over the place. Oh, we also added topics for these little light bulbs. - We updated the Admin Guide, to provide more detailed information for setting up an Group.
Other Enhancements and Bug Fixes
- Calendar events were not displaying the end time.
- Invite All Members resulted in a "Forbidden Page" error. That's the bad news. The good news is that the invitations were, in fact, sent.
- A page link to any Video was playing the first video, not the selected video.
- Clicking the More tab directly resulted in an error. Selecting any of the menu choices available when hovering over this tab worked just fine.
- A change we made on a recent release disabled the ability to cancel a practice. And when editing a canceled game, the Cancel status was lost.
- On the Calendar page, selecting a date in the drop down did not work
- If you weren't logged in and followed a Notification link, after login you would get a Forbidden Page error.
- For admins, clicking a link in the Activities log for someone whose iPanel had been changed would take you to the wrong page.
