Directra Build #346
Released on November 18, 2008
New Features
- We've changed our look a bit. There are several things to note:
- We have new web pages for Directra. You'll find them at www.directra.com.
- Directra (in the header of each page) is a drop-down menu. Check out the various options.
- On the Help menu drop-down list you'll see Contact Directra Support. If you have any questions, problems, praises(!) or anything else we can help you with, please use this option.
- In our previous release we allowed you to get more precise control over what was viewable by the public and what was viewable by members only. For admins we have added the Default Access panel to the Admin tab. Checking an item in this panel means that when you create a new object of this type, it will be, by default, viewable by the public at large. Removing the check means that, by default, the new object will be viewable only by members of the Group. Learn more ...
Example - When creating entries for your calendar, you may want games and practices to be public, but events to be members-only. In the Default Access panel, check the boxes for Games and Practices, and make sure that the box for Events is not checked. Now, when you or anyone else adds an entry to the calendar it will have the correct view setting. Of course, you can always change the setting when creating or editing the object. But the default behavior will follow what you specify on the Default Access Panel.
Improvements / Fixes / Changes Made
- You can again upload multiple photos and videos using the new Flash, version 10. (Only those who had installed Flash 10 saw this problem.)
- There was a bug in how we added members to families, so it was possible that you might see two, or even four representations of a member in a family, even though the member was in the database only once. We fixed this bug and also automatically updated all Groups to repair this problem for you.
- We "normalized" the URLs for Directra so there is no confusion between beta.directra.com and www.directra.com. In previous builds it was possible to link from one domain to another, requiring the user to log in a second time. Now everything is redirected to www.directra.com.
- If your Group is not a team, we no longer display the Game and Practice icons at the top of the Schedule.
- Editing of the Game Recap section of a Game was broken.
- Files marked public appeared in the homepage gadget, but the file itself could not be downloaded.
