Directra Build #218
Released on June 06, 2008
New Features
This build contains significant improvements to uploading and viewing photos.
- You can now browse and select more than one photo to add to Directra. On the Photos tab the command New Photo has been updated to Upload Photos.
Notes:
- To select consecutive photos to add, hold the Shift key and select the first and last photos you want to upload. Hold the Control key to select non-consecutive photos.
- You must have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed to upload multiple files. If this version is not present you can still add photos, but one-at-a time, as in previous builds.
- Photo file types supported are .jpg, .gif, and .png.
- You can mark a photo Members Only so that only Group members who log in can see the photo. If the photo is marked Public then it will be displayed as part of the photo slideshow on the Group public homepage. By default, when you upload a picture it is marked Members Only. Edit the photo properties if you want to mark it Public.
- We made several changes to the Photos tab. Each photo is displayed as a thumbnail. Click on a photo to see the full photo and its properties. From this view you can:
- Toggle between a smaller and larger version of the photo.
- Use the Next and Previous links to cycle through all your photos.
- View and edit the properties for the selected photo.
Note that we removed the Slideshow option from the Photos tab.
- On the Photos tab, photos are listed in the order they were taken, with most recent first. When you upload a photo Directra will attempt to use the "taken" time from the photo file itself. If this time doesn't exist, Directra uses the date and time you uploaded the photo. You can then edit the photo to enter the actual "taken" time.
- You (and anyone else in the Group) can add a comment to a photo.
- Photos in Directra can be downloaded to your computer. This means that if someone else posts a photo you like, you can grab it and save it for your use.
