Directra's Features

Here is a description of each of Directra's features and built-in homepage gadgets. Group admins enable or disable features using the Edit Group Features option on the Settings tab and place homepage gadgets using the Edit Home Page Layout on the Settings tab.

  • Album: Organize all your multimedia files (photos, videos and other files that you upload) into albums, assign them to calendar entries and to group members. Customize your home page by adding the Album home page gadget. Albums are automatically enabled when you enable photos, videos or files.
  • Announcement: A way for the group admin to post announcements for other group members. Announcements can appear on the home page, and you can view all announcements by selecting Announcements on the Features tab.
  • Calendar: Where you record and display group events. The monthly calendar can be viewed full page using the Calendar tab, and can be displayed on the home page in two formats:
    • Large format, when displayed in the center column. The current month is shown and events and other calendar data are displayed.
    • Small format (the mini-calendar), when displayed in the left or right column. The current month is shown, and days for which an event or other activity occurs are highlighted.

The calendar can be exported for integration with and subscription to Google, Outlook and other common calendars.

  • Calendar List: A different view of the calendar. Rather than a monthly layout, the calendar list is a line-by-line view of what has gone on before and what's coming up. You view the calendar list using the Calendar tab, and the calendar list can be displayed on the home page.
  • Contact Us: A gadget which appears on the home page to allow visitors to the group web site to contact certain group members. The member's photo is shown, together with icons for phone phone and email email which link to phone numbers and/or email addresses which the member has set to visible or protected. Note that even if the contact information is visible, it is shown as protected to the general public.

After you place the gadget on your home page, click the gadget title and select Edit Contact Us Settings. Here you can select the members who will be displayed on the gadget.
