Home Page Layout

You have a lot of flexibility in deciding what to show on your Group's home page ... and where to show this information. There are a couple of things you need to understand before starting out.

• Your home page is laid out into three columns. The left-hand and right-hand columns are relatively narrow, but will widen automatically to display the data you select.
• Home page data is displayed by gadgets. For example, one gadget displays a calendar, another a snapshot of recent blasts, another a Contact Us panel. Each gadget has it's own way of displaying information, depending on the feature it represents. Note that the top of the third column is reserved for Google ads but you may place any gadget you like below these ads.

Experiment with displaying information until you're comfortable with the information you're displaying and how it is laid out on your home page.

Building your Home Page Layout

1. Click the Home tab to display your Group's home page.
2. On the Home tab click the Edit button, which will pop up the Home Page Layout form.
3. Check the box for each item you want displayed in each column.
4. You can change the order of checked items in each column by dragging individual items up or down in the column list. Place your cursor over an item and when you see the move-feature cursor ( ) you can move the item up or down it its column.
5. Some gadgets display differently when displayed in the center column than when displayed in the narrower left or right columns.
   • Monthly Calendar: In the center column you'll see the full calendar. In the left and right columns you will see the mini-calendar.
   • Members: In the center column this gadget displays member photos using Cover Flow. In the left and right columns, a montage of thumbnail-sized member photos is displayed.
6. When you've made your changes, click Save and your home page display will update. If it's not quite right, repeat these steps.
