Sending an Attachment With Your Email Blast

There are two ways to make a file attachment available when you send an email blast.

Sending an email blast from any email program.

You can use any email program to send an email blast. When you prepare the blast use your email program to include any attachments you want to send. Here's what to do:

  1. In the To: field of your message specify the tagged subgroup of your Group, followed by the domain name of your Group.
    Examples
    • If your Group has its own domain and Directra routes the email for this domain, use the tag name followed by this domain name. For example, parents@mydomain.com.
    • If you don't have a domain, use the subdomain that Directra manages for you. For example, send the message to parents@mydomain.directra.com.
  2. Specify the From: address.
  3. Enter the text of your message.
  4. Add one or more attachments to your message.
  5. Send your message.

Directra will route the email to everyone in the tagged subgroup of your Group.

Sharing a File in Directra

You can upload a file to Directra, then use the Share command to send a blast which includes a link to the file.

  1. On the Features tab make sure you have enabled Files as a feature. Then click the Files option and upload the file you want to share.
  2. Click the file icon to go to the file details page.
  3. (Optional) Edit the file and make sure the access is Public. This is necessary if you will be sharing the file with members who don't log in.
  4. Click the Actions button and select Share. A dialog will appear which contains a link to the Directra page where this file can be found and downloaded.
  5. Select your recipients as you would with any email blast. You can also customize the message, but make sure you don't change the link.
  6. Send the message. Recipients can use the link to view and download the file.
