Using Tags
Tags allow you to create and contact sub-groups within your Group. In particular, you use tags to:
- Identify those members who can act as Group administrators. Assign the Admin tag to these members.
- Create groups of members who can be the target of call blasts, text blasts and email blasts.
Here are a couple of examples.
- For your team, create three tags -- Player, Parent and Coach -- and assign members accordingly. Now you can send an email to, say, parent@yourdomain.com to let all parents know of a change in practice time, or anything else that parents need to know quickly.
- Your team takes a road trip and you want to make sure that all drivers know the latest traffic conditions. You can create a tag called Drivers that will be used specifically for this road trip. Assign this tag to each parent or coach who will be driving. When any driver encounters traffic, he or she can warn the other drivers by sending a call blast to the other drivers. When the road trip is over you can delete this tag.
Creating and Assigning Tags
Note
Only Group administrators can create and assign tags.
Setting up your tags is a two-step process:
- Create a tag: Click the Members tab, select the Tags view, then click the Add Tag button.
- Assign the tag to members of the Group: In the Tags view select the tag in the left column. Click the Edit / Assign Members button and select the members for this tag.
