Home Page

You have the option of having a Directra home page for your group. Shared groups have this by default. If you have a Personal group you must first enable the group for sharing (Settings tab, Setup, Group settings). Then use the Edit Group Features option on the Settings tab to enable a home page.

You can lay out your home page in either of two ways:

  1. On the Settings tab select Edit Home Page Layout.
  2. Click the Settings tab, select Group Settings, then use the Home Page tab in the left column.

Here's how it works:

  • Your home page consists of various gadgets, each with its own display which Directra takes care of automatically.
  • You have three columns in which you can lay out your home page gadgets. The left and right columns are narrow, the center column is wide. Keep this in mind as you decide how to place the gadgets.
  • The panel displays a table with the three columns and a list of gadgets under each column. (The gadgets that are available depend on the features used in your group.) In each column, check the box for the gadget you want displayed in that column. Use your mouse to drag gadgets up and down in the list, placing them vertically as you like.
  • Click Save, then go to your home page to view the layout. If it's not quite right, repeat the above steps.
  • Depending on the features you have selected you can specify the number of Discussions, announcements, related Groups and blast results, each of which displays as a separate gadget on the home page.
  • Some gadgets, most notably the calendar, display differently in the left or right columns than in the center column. You may want to experiment with this so you get the layout you want.
  • If you create custom gadgets, these will appear in your list of choices for each column. Place them as you would any of Directra's built-in-gadgets.
